Copper Lake is the third book in a series but can easily be read alone. It involves a serial killer who is the only physician in the small community of Stutter Creek.. He carves coordinates on his victims' femur bones after removing the flesh and then tattoos the same numbers on his body.. It is a scary story from the beginning.to end. A new resident of the community and a police detective on paid leave, stumbles across one of the victims while fishing and hiking. When the killer goes on a spree, things get really scary. The author has a beautiful gift for description, and she has really outdone herself this time.
